Communication Support Worker with Medical Experience
Salary: St Paul’s Pay Range 3 (£29,572 to £31,586)
(Pro rata Staring Salary £20,381)
30 hours per week, Term time only plus 1 day
Working hours Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.40am-3.35pm, Tuesday 8.50am-3.35pm and Friday 8.40am-2.30pm
We are currently seeking a qualified Communication Support Worker to enhance the learning of deaf/hard of hearing pupils within the classroom and the Hearing Support Department. We are looking for an individual ideally with BSL qualification or with the willingness to work towards BSL qualifications to join our diverse team. You must have a good working knowledge of deafness and be passionate about the education of all young people. You will be joining an established team working with up to 9 pupils currently.
We are seeking someone who ideally has paediatric first aid training and previous experience working with people with medical needs. It would also be beneficial if there is previous experience of working with people who have a tracheostomy, including changing tracheostomies. An essential part of the job would require a willingness to undertake training to support individuals with tracheostomy care, under the supervision of our school-based medical team.
