What skills and experience we're looking for

Outwood Academy Acklam is seeking a highly professional and organised Cover and Assessment Administrator to join our team. This pivotal role combines two essential functions: organising daily cover for absent staff and providing critical support for the academy's assessment, data, and examinations processes.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for cover logistics, liaising with internal staff and external agencies to ensure continuity of teaching. Simultaneously, you will support the Examinations and Assessment Officer in maintaining accurate student tracking data, managing the administration of all internal and external examinations, and providing broader data and clerical support to the Business Services and SLT teams.

A strong background in administrative duties, excellent clerical skills (including typing/word processing), and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages (Word and Excel) are essential. Full training will be provided to the right professional individual who is committed to supporting the Academy in raising standards in teaching and learning.

To be successful, you should ideally possess a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in English and Maths. You must have excellent interpersonal skills, in order to allow you to engage with callers and visitors to the Academy, students and staff professionally, efficiently and sensitively. A flexible approach to work is essential, in order to assist the Administration team at busy times. Previous experience in an education environment would be an advantage but is not essential.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our students. All offers of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
