Cover Assistant job summary

Cover Assistant (Band 7) Spinal Column Points 8 – 11, £16,673.99 – 17,695.11 per annum, 35 hours per week, term time only, including PD Days (195 days per year). This is a fixed-term post which is expected to continue until 30th November 2022 providing maternity leave cover.

The school wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Cover Assistant to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will supervise whole classes, across the school from Nursery to Year 6, to provide cover to classes and some PPA. The successful candidate will maintain order, keep pupils on task and ensure active learning is continued.

Candidates should be suitably qualified and experienced, possessing a NVQ level 3 or equivalent and have worked as a classroom or teaching assistant within a primary school, for a minimum of 2 years, have experience of working successfully and collaboratively with teachers to plan and deliver programmes of teaching and learning activities for classes and be able to meet the criteria detailed on the person specification.
