Contract: 36.5 hrs/wk (Monday-Wednesday) Permanent, Term Time Only (39 wks/yr)
Reports to: Deputy Headteacher
Manages: Cover Supervisors
The RolePerryfields Academy is seeking an organized and resilient Cover Manager to lead our daily whole-school cover programme. You will ensure educational continuity and maintain high behavior standards by scheduling daily cover, managing Cover Supervisors, and liaising with external supply agencies.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Cover Scheduling: Plan and distribute whole-school cover schedules using Arbor (MIS), managing both planned and short-notice absences.
Agency & Onboarding Management: Coordinate with supply agencies, track spend, verify timesheets, and ensure full safeguarding (KCSIE) compliance and ICT access for temporary staff.
Team Leadership: Line-manage, deploy, and support the internal Cover Supervisor team.
Classroom Supervision: Supervise classes when required, delivering set work, managing behavior, and completing registers.
Whole-School Duties: Assist with break/lunch supervisory duties, assemblies, and general operational support.
RequirementsEssential:
GCSE Grade C/4+ in English and Maths (or equivalent).
Excellent organizational, administrative, and ICT skills.
Ability to work flexibly and remain calm under pressure.
Strong communication, discretion, and a clear commitment to safeguarding.
Desirable:
Secondary school experience or background as a Cover Supervisor.
Experience with Arbor (MIS), rota management, or agency bookings.
Level 3+ qualification in education or administration.
