What skills and experience we're looking for

Bruntcliffe Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated Cover Supervisor. Our team of cover professionals support the smooth running of the academy by covering lessons for planned and unplanned teacher absences. Our Cover Supervisors teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 using supplied resources to ensure consistency in the quality of education we provide to our pupils.

We are looking for a professional with experience in working with young people, ideally in teaching or lesson cover. The ideal applicant will have the ability to work with pupils across a range of ages and in a variety of subject areas. The successful candidate will have the ability be flexible and resilient, holding high expectations whilst building positive relationships with our pupils.

Potential applicants should have:

  • Grade 4 (C) and above in GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Experience of working with young people and a genuine passion for education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • A calm, flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to adapt to different classroom situations and student needs.
