What skills and experience we're looking for

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Cover Supervisor at Malet Lambert. We are looking for a highly-motivated, forward-thinking and passionate individual to facilitate and encourage learning which enables pupils to achieve high standards to share and support the corporate responsibility for the well-being, education and discipline of all pupils.

The role may be the perfect job for aspiring teachers who are seeking additional classroom experience before applying for a PGCE with opportunities to progress on to Teacher Training in the future through the Trusts own Teaching School.

We are looking for an individual who has a good standard of education, as each day you will supervise classes during the absence of subject teachers and provide support to department teams, therefore it is essential that you have the confidence to stand in front of classes up to 30 students and deliver pre-set lesson plans. Someone who has already undertaken on a similar role, i.e. Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL), would be well suited to the Cover Supervisor role. Previous experience of working with young people is essential, along with the ability to complete administration tasks including recording and monitoring attendance. You will be committed to ensuring every individual child receives the care, support and guidance they need to thrive and be the best they can be.
