The team at South Hunsley School and Sixth Form are looking for an individual to work as a Cover Supervisor who will play a vital role in supporting our students by ensuring they are provided with high quality teaching and learning or targeted support when a member of staff is absent or unavailable.
The role could be anexcellentopportunity for those who are aspiring to train to teach in the future or for those who are looking to work within the education sector without the additional planning and marking that comes with teaching. Those looking to make a career change may also find cover supervising an excellent opportunity to work within a school setting.
What does the role involve?
You will be supervising classes in the absence of their subject teacher and providing support to departmental colleagues and teams.
We are looking for an individual who has a good standard of education (a qualification in numeracy and literacy is preferred) as you will be working with classes of students to complete the work set by the teacher. Previous experience of working with young people is desirable, along with the ability to complete administrative duties such as recording attendance and communicating with colleagues across the school.
The working hours are from 08:25am to 15:30pm Monday to Friday during the school term. You will also be paid for an additional 31.25 hours per year, to attend team meetings and training and development outside your normal working hours. Your actual will be starting from £20,248.13 per annum, and this will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, salary you continue to receive the same payment that month.

The Education Alliance Multi-Academy Trust was established in 2015 so that South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College could support the setting up of Hunsley Primary School, the East Riding’s first Free School. In February 2016, Malet Lambert School, an 11-16 school in Hull, joined the trust and the following year, Driffield School and Sixth Form joined as a sponsored academy. The Snaith School, an 11-16 school joined us in April 2019 and North Cave CE Primary School in November 2019. Howden Junior School joined us October 2022 followed by Wilberfoss CE Primary School in May 2023. Howden CE Infant School joined us in September 2023 followed by Naburn CE Primary School who joined on 1 October as a sponsored academy.
In addition to the ten schools, the trust also operates Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training, the only Outstanding SCITT based in East Yorkshire, which is training a new generation of primary and secondary teachers in East Riding and Hull.
