What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Cover Supervisor to join our team at Wellsway School, working under the guidance of the Assistant Principal. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in supporting student learning both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment during teacher absences. We are looking for an individual with:
- Minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- At least two years of recent, relevant experience working with children or young people.
- Ability to manage classroom activities safely and engage students in learning.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to relate well to students and adults.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and emotionally intelligent approach to working with children.
- Passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
- Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.

Your Role in Building Brighter Futures
As a Cover Supervisor at Wellsway School, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura’s mission statement of “Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish”. As a Cover Supervisor you will be responsible to:
- Supervise whole classes during the absence of teachers, ensuring students stay on task and complete work set.
- Promote and maintain a safe and positive learning environment by implementing the school’s Behaviour Policy.
- Offer advice and guidance to students, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed in their learning.
- Support students with specific needs, fostering positive relationships and high expectations.
- Collect completed work and return it to teachers as required.
- Provide support in administrative tasks, student attendance registration, invigilating exams, and accompanying students on trips.
- Actively participate in the wider school community, supporting the school’s vision, ethos, and values.
