Cover Supervisor job summary

We are looking for a confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor for a fixed term position, from September 2026 to Summer 2027.The working hours are Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3.30pm, 37 hours per week on a term time only basis.

As a cover supervisor you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher, implementing work programmes, managing student behaviour and assisting in relevant activities in line with school policy and procedure.

You will consistently deliver high-quality learning opportunities to our students, ensuring standards of behaviour, engagement and achievement are evident at all times.

We are looking for someone who has experience working as a Cover Supervisor or other relevant experience, good general subject knowledge and ability to engage with young people. You will have excellent communication skills and ability to establish positive professional working relationships with others.

An awareness of, and commitment to, safeguarding practices and behaviour management strategies is essential. Great IT skills and experience of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and using information management systems would be beneficial to this role.
