Teaching Assistant job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant at Padgate Academy, working alongside a very supportive SEND Team and wider staff.

The postholder will be required to support students with additional needs and/or disabilities, working with and supporting students’ academic progress. The students will have a variety of additional needsand will require support to access their learning and interact with staff and students positively.

Attributes essential for the post include:

  • behaviour for learning management skills
  • the ability to relate to and empathise with students’ difficulties alongside working positively with, teachers, other professionals and parent/carers
  • the ability to work within a team and on your own initiative
  • excellent attendance and punctuality
  • an interest in, or experience of working with students with additional needs

It is essential that the successful candidate can communicate clearly to students and staff in a calm and respectful manner, be reliable and trustworthy and work within the Academy’s policies and procedures.
