Cover Supervisor job summary

Our school is proud to be part of Anthem, a multi-academy trust that creates ambitious and successful schools where every child thrives.

The Deepings School is a mixed 11-18 comprehensive school at the heart of The Deepings, a vibrant, growing community in South Lincolnshire. We have high expectations of our students during the seven years that the majority of them are part of our school family. We have equally high expectations of all parents/carers and members of staff and we know that you have high expectations of us, too. At The Deepings School we place great emphasis on partnership and co-operation between parents, students and staff to ensure each child receives the best possible education. We encourage and welcome dialogue with all stakeholders of the school to achieve our aim of sustained improvement in all areas.

Our culture of care and positive relationships provide students with the confidence and independence they need to succeed both inside and outside school. We are also committed to ensuring that our students are positive leaders, strong problem-solvers and develop the life-skills required to prepare them for life after school.

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join the team and support the work of the school when teachers are absent due to planned or unplanned absence. The role involves taking sole charge of a full class of students, managing their behaviour and keeping them on task to complete the work set by the absent teacher.

Employee Benefits Include:

  • Pension schemes - TPS (Teachers) and LGPS (Non-Teachers)
  • CPD certified opportunities - available to all employees
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) - providing wellbeing and confidential advice services
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Health Shield Scheme

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and we welcome applications from all sections of the community.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and require all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment. It is an offence for an individual who has been disqualified from working with children to knowingly apply for, offer to do, accept, or do any work in a ‘regulated activity’. The position advertised is a ‘regulated activity’.

We will carry out an online check on all shortlisted applicants.
