Cover Supervisor job summary
Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a difference in the classroom? Norton Canes High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of working with young people who is keen to contribute to a positive learning environment.

- Supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers
- Delivering pre-set work and ensuring a purposeful learning environment
- Managing pupil behaviour in line with school policies
- Supporting pupils’ learning and responding to their individual needs
- Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and conduct
- Contributing to the wider life of the school, including supervision duties
- Experience of working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills (GCSE or equivalent)
- NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage behaviour positively and effectively
- A proactive, flexible and team-oriented approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
