Cover Supervisor

Required for September 2026

37 hours per week, term time plus 5 training days

NJC Scale Point: 11-13

Actual salary: £24,072 - £24,861 actual salary

Macmillan Academy is looking to appoint a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to cover lessons during teacher absence, supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

A degree qualification would be an advantage. This is a good opportunity for someone looking to pursue a teaching career to gain experience within an academy setting.

About the role

You will work directly with students within different departments, building powerful relationships that raise confidence, aspiration and achievement.

You will:

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students in remaining engaged and on task
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and pastoral teams
  • Provide additional classroom support and intervention when it is required
