What skills and experience we're looking for
- At least five GCSE’s or equivalent which must include at least a 4 or above in maths and English / NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification or equivalent relevant student-centred qualification (desirable)
- Evidence of personal commitment to CPD.
- Previous experience working in a school or equivalent setting
- Behaviour management skills
- Working with students of secondary school age within a school or within an appropriate context
- Be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally.

We are looking for a Cover Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to join Blaise High School and become an integral member of the team.
Working with the Assistant Headteacher to provide short-term cover for absent teachers, supervising classes and ensuring that the work set is carried out in a calm working environment.

Main responsibilities:
- Working with the Assistant Headteacher, efficiently plan cover each day, communicate with all relevant staff and signpost changes of rooms
- Supervise combined classes in larger spaces when required
- Supervise work that has been set in accordance with the school policy
- Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking this work to ensure a constructive learning environment in accordance with the whole school behaviour system
- Collect completed work and return it to the appropriate teacher
- Ensure the room is left tidy and ready for the next lesson
- Report back on the lesson ensuring any issues arising are reported back to the usual class teacher or relevant leader
- Record and report attendance in accordance with school policy
