Hours : 35 hours per week 8.00am to 3.30pm. Minus 30 mins unpaid lunch break each day

Chase High School is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and confident Cover Supervisor to join our team.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring pupils remain focused, engaged and ready to learn. You will work from lesson instructions and resources provided by teachers, maintaining high standards of behaviour and acting as a positive role model for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes and ensure pupils remain on task and engaged in their learning.
  • Deliver clear instructions and support pupils with general queries about their work.
  • Maintain a calm, purposeful and positive learning environment.
  • Promote high expectations of behaviour, conduct and attitudes to learning.
  • Deal promptly and appropriately with behaviour issues in line with school policies.
  • Provide accurate and objective feedback to teachers on lessons and pupil conduct.
  • Support pupils with their learning, promoting inclusion and equality.
  • Make effective use of ICT, equipment and learning resources where appropriate.
  • Follow school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.
  • Participate in relevant training, meetings and professional development as required.

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, equality, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
