E‑ACT Merchants Secondary Academy is seeking to appoint a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team.

The successful candidate will supervise classes during teacher absence, delivering pre‑set work while maintaining high standards of behaviour, engagement and learning. You will create a calm, safe and purposeful environment, ensuring continuity of education across a range of subjects.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise classes during teacher absence and deliver pre‑set work
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and student engagement
• Support students’ learning across a range of subjects
• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour
• Create a calm, safe and purposeful classroom environment

Pay range: NJC 17 - 21 - £23,195.28 - £25,604.89 - FTE: £30,024.00 - £33,143.00 - £2.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

Qualifications and Skills:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
• Qualification in Level 3 Cover Supervision, HLTA or equivalent
• Education, youth work or relevant classroom experience (desirable)
• Ability to confidently manage classroom behaviour
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
