Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy is a vibrant and inclusive secondary school committed to delivering high quality education. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Cover Supervisor to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have experience working with young people and are looking to gain classroom experience in a secondary school setting. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged and maintaining a positive learning environment.
Your responsibilities
- Supervising classes during short-term teacher absences
- Delivering pre-pared lesson materials to students
- Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning environment
- Supporting students with their learning and responding to any queries
- Establishing productive working relationships with pupils and staff, acting as a role model and setting high standards
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to deliver lessons to students and manage classroom behaviour effectively.
