Cover Supervisor - Physical Education job summary
Job Title: Cover Supervisor - Physical Education
Terms: 31.25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Salary: Devon Legacy Pay Scales, Grade D, SCP 8-12
Location: Ivybridge Community College
The Cover Supervisor supports the effective operation of the trust and works to uphold and promote its vision and values. To enable the provision of learning to continue in the absence of the teacher normally responsible for teaching a particular class, by utilising pre-prepared lesson plans. To manage effectively the behaviour of students, and where no cover duties are required, to undertake activities to assist teachers in the delivery of the curriculum. To assist the Head of Department in any other duties as are reasonable (Trips etc.).
The successful applicant would primarily cover Physical Education lessons but they may be required to support other departments depending on the needs of the College.
This role would be perfect for:
- A qualified teacher (any subject) looking to moving to the region, a WeST school or Ivybridge Community College as a route to other potential future posts.
- A non-teaching PE/ Sport/ Coaching degree holder looking to gain school experience prior to applying for a PE teaching qualification
- A non-teaching individual without a degree, but an interest in PE or sport, looking for a rewarding term time only job in a college environment.
