About this role 

The Heigham Community Federation has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our thriving team and help us to support children’s learning and development through a holistic and inquiry-based approach. 

  • It would suit someone who has experience of working with infant aged children and working as part of a team   
  • It would also suit someone who is looking to broaden their experience of working with children and supporting them to be able to flourish. 
  • The successful candidate will be based at Recreation Road Infant School, working across the infant phase.  However, they may be deployed across the primary phase in future years. 
  • The successful candidate will be involved in the preparation and delivery of small group learning activities, supporting with monitoring and assessment, alongside the class teacher.   
  • The successful candidate will supervise a whole class in the short-term absence of a teacher This includes class cover on a planned, ad-hoc or unplanned basis 

 

We are looking for someone who: 

  • has recent experience working in the infant phase, and is fully prepared to work in all primary age groups; 
  • has good numeracy/literacy skills; 
  • has NVQ 3 or equivalent in teaching assistance or proven experience; 
  • can work with children with additional needs and support these children through tailored group work and nurture; 
  • can use their own initiative; 
  • has good communication skills, with children and adults; 
  • has a contagious enthusiasm for learning and has practice that engages children by stimulating their imagination and curiosity; 
  • is highly resilient and shows a proactive, solution-focused approach to personal and professional development; 
  • can act effectively as part of a team. 
  • brings a strong work ethic, proven teamwork and an excellent sense of humour to our vibrant school community; 
  • is committed to ensuring the right of every child to be included, accepted and valued for their strengths and contributions; 
  • is determined to secure the absolute best for our pupils and will work hard to ensure children achieve everything they’re capable of.
