Cover Supervisor & Sports Coach job summary

Main duties and responsibilities

• The role involves covering lessons during short term staff absence.
• Supervising the class whilst they complete tasks set by the teacher.
• Assist in the teaching of games and extra-curricular sport programmes.
• During periods when no cover is required, the postholder will be expected to help with other administrative or support staff tasks, as requested by the Cover Manager.

Requirements

• A talent in one of our major sports ie rugby, hockey or cricket.
• A commitment to extra-curricular, mid-week and Saturday fixtures is essential.
• An organised, thorough and committed individual with an ability to command respect from students.
• Energy, enthusiasm, dedication and a willingness to contribute to the student experience in this busy school.
• For candidates considering teaching as a career, we have an excellent track record of supporting PE Graduates to progress onto teacher training via this route.

Contract

Required for 5th January 2026

Full time (37 hours per week), term time only (38 weeks)

Grade H5, Actual Salary £23,663 per annum

Additional income can be generated by taking on lunchtime duties
