Cover Supervisor job summary

Are you an undergraduate considering teaching in the future? Are you keen to work with our students and support us in delivering a first-class education? About the role: The Leigh UTC and Inspiration Academy has an exciting opportunity to appoint a Cover Supervisor who will make a real impact to our students' learning. It is an amazing opportunity and a great way of having a clear understanding of a school’s day to day operation if you are interested in undertaking ‘Teacher Training’ in the near future. A Cover Supervisor’s role allows you to explore a range of subjects within a school which further enhances one’s opportunities. Our successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of whole classes during short-term absence of teachers, providing instructions for a lesson as provided for by a teacher. The Cover Supervisor will ensure the good behaviour of the students and make sure the students engage in the learning activity. The ability to build strong and effective working relationships is essential for this role, so if you feel you meet the criteria – we’d love to hear from you! Training will be provided for the post-holder and if there are certain subject areas of preference to you and your skill-set, we would do our best to adhere to this. Knowledge, Experience and Training: Experience of working with students of the relevant age. Competence in the use of ICT to support teaching and learning. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and within a team. When not required to cover lessons, you will be deployed to provide general assistance, for example to support individuals or groups with particular learning needs and undertake exam invigilation as required. Do you know a great teacher who would like to hear about opportunities with Leigh Academies Trust? If so, make a referral today for the chance to receive £100 as a 'thank you'. Simply complete the referral form by clicking here. T&C's apply.
