What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to internal promotion, we are excited to be looking for a Cover Supervisor to join the team, starting in the new academic year.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in front of a classroom and will join a professional, enthusiastic and well-respected team of four.

The role of the Cover Supervisor is to supervise whole classes during short-term absence of teachers. They must ensure a safe and engaging working environment for classes whose teacher is absent in order for all students to be able to access and complete the work set by the member of teaching staff.

The post holder will be required to respond to pupil’s general questions but will not be expected to undertake any planning, preparation, delivery or assessment of pupils’ progress and/or development. You will also be expected to manage the behaviour of the class, in accordance with the School’s behaviour policy. It will be essential to work with the students to ensure they are getting the most of out of the lesson and to facilitate their learning as much as possible.

When there are no lessons requiring cover, Cover Supervisors are expected to use their initiative to support teaching/learning throughout the school by undertaking tasks in various areas of the school, including but are not limited to: lessons/Enrichment Activities, Registration,Library,PHSE Activities,School day trips, and Examination Invigilation.
