Cover Supervisor job summary

We are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to provide supervision of our pupils and their work during periods of short term teacher absence. The successful candidate will take sole charge of groups of children to deliver lessons as set by the teacher, ensure that students are on task and complete the work set. An ability to manage the behaviour in the classroom to ensure a constructive learning environment is a must and support and training in this area will be provided. The post-holder will work closely with teaching staff across a wide range of subject areas across the curriculum. We are looking for applications from adaptable, organised individuals with strong literacy and numeracy skills.

You will already have experience of working in a Secondary School and may be looking for a new challenge. You will be confident and assertive individual with strong Behaviour management skills to ensure a constructive classroom learning environment, as well as a talent for inspiring and encouraging others.

Your Duties will include supervising students during short term absences supervising KS3, 4 & 5 classes in carrying out a pre-prepared work. It will also involve working as a Form Tutor or an attached member of a Pastoral team; liaising with teaching staff to discuss work set during staff absence, organising the return of completed work and supporting attached Faculties and departments.

You must also be ICT competent and have GCSE’s grade C/4 or above in Math and English.
