Cover Teacher job summary

At Burwell Village College we believe that every child has the ability to succeed if we give them the right opportunities. We have recently rewritten our curriculum to reflect the highest standards in all curriculum areas. We are committed to staff development and we have therefore devised a timetable that allows us to release teachers to share practice, monitor outcomes and develop highly effective teaching and learning strategies. In order to maintain this we need staff who are able to deliver identified curriculum content of Computing, RE, English and Maths on a Friday. Alongside this we want to be able to increase the impact of leaders across the school by focusing their time on leadership tasks. Finally, we know that children respond best to adults that they know and trust and therefore when staff are absent we want to be able to provide some continuity for them. Utilising teachers as cover staff will allow us to ensure that pupils learning continues successfully through the year. The children here are well-behaved, hard-working and eager to learn. The facilities are fantastic with space and equipment readily available. Parents are keen to support the school and are positive about the improvements already being made. This is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the over four hundred children. If you really want to have a measurable impact on children’s life chances, Burwell could be the school for you. If you have the knowledge and skills we are looking for then we would be really keen to hear from you.
