Cover Teacher job summary

Cover Teacher

UNQ 1 - MPS3

Wellfield School is looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Teacher who has the skills, adaptability, and drive to support teaching and learning across our secondary curriculum. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in supply teaching who understands the demands of delivering high-quality lessons across a range of subjects and year groups, supported by our experienced subject teams.

The role involves providing cover for both short-term and planned teacher absences. While day-to-day planning requirements are minimal, it is essential that you are able to deliver meaningful and engaging lessons using subject-specific unit plans and pupil information provided. Unlike subject specialists, this role has reduced responsibilities around marking, assessment, and pastoral duties.

You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning and supporting the progress of our students. At Wellfield, we believe every young person deserves access to an excellent education—and as a Cover Teacher, you will be part of a team that is making a real difference in students’ lives every day.

If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity in a vibrant, modern school environment, we would love to hear from you.

Interested candidates who would like to arrange a visit are warmly encouraged to contact Kelly Jobes (Headteacher’s PA) via email at k.jobes@wellfieldschool.net to arrange a mutually convenient date and time.
