Creative Arts and Technology Technician job summary
Leeds West Academy is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised and adaptable Creative Arts and Technology Technician to provide high-quality technical, practical and administrative support across our Technology, Dance, Drama and Music curriculum areas.
This is a varied and rewarding opportunity to contribute directly to the quality of education and wider enrichment experiences available to our students. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with curriculum leaders and teaching colleagues to ensure that practical lessons, creative activities, rehearsals and performances are effectively resourced, prepared and supported.
The role encompasses the preparation and organisation of teaching materials, equipment and resources; the maintenance of safe, well-organised learning environments; and the effective management of departmental stock, supplies and equipment. The postholder will also provide practical and technical assistance during lessons and contribute to the preparation and delivery of performances, productions and other curriculum-related events.
A key aspect of the position is ensuring that appropriate health and safety procedures are consistently maintained, including the safe use, storage, checking and maintenance of specialist equipment and materials. The successful candidate will also undertake associated administrative duties, including ordering resources, maintaining records and supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the departments.
We are looking for an individual who demonstrates strong organisational skills, practical problem solving abilities and a commitment to supporting high-quality learning experiences. We welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable skills and a willingness to develop their knowledge across the curriculum areas.
Applicants are not expected to possess specialist expertise in every subject area. We are particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate initiative, flexibility, attention to detail and a positive, collaborative approach to working with colleagues and young people.
Working Arrangements
We recognise the importance of attracting talented individuals with a range of experiences and personal circumstances. The position is available up to full-time, term-time only plus 10 additional days. We welcome applications from candidates seeking part-time employment and are open to discussing flexible working arrangements to secure the right appointment.
