Be passionate about ensuring that the Languages department continues to deliver high quality teaching consistently in all lessons.

What the school offers its staff

The Governors seek to appoint an outstanding Curriculum Leader for Languages, from September 2023. Priory School has a proud history and proven track record with Languages, formerly holding Specialist Languages College status, for French, Spanish, German and Latin, and has 75%+ uptake at GCSE. The department was awarded the PTI mark in 2021.

With a new leadership team in place since September 2022, this is an exciting time for the school. Our aim is for Priory to be the leading inclusive and creative state secondary school in the region, a school in which all students acquire powerful knowledge, feel a strong sense of social connection and belonging, and become ethically-aware citizens who are ready to confidently take their place in the world. Our school also aims to reflect the uniqueness of Lewes, historically and socially.

The successful applicant will have a highly successful track record of raising achievement in Languages in order to drive further improvement within the department. This role will include working with our existing dedicated and enthusiastic team to build upon past successes with a strong commitment to student success and well-being. This is an excellent opportunity for an able and ambitious teacher with leadership abilities who wishes to work in a school where standards are very high.
