Due to the exciting growth of our specialist provisions within The GORSE Academies Trust, which has seen Rainbow Base expand from 22 to 52 places over the last five years, we are looking to appoint a highly skilled and committed curriculum leader to support the continued success of this resource provision.
Rainbow Base caters for 52 pupils with complex communication needs and/or autism. We are passionate about delivering the highest quality education and care for our pupils and their families. As such, we are seeking a leader who can build on the outstanding practice already in place and help shape the future of our provision.
This role presents a unique and rewarding challenge. The successful candidate will play a key role in further developing Rainbow Base as an integral part of Richmond Hill Academy — supporting a highly skilled staff team, driving forward our values-based curriculum, and delivering provision pathways that ensure a world-class education for every pupil.
If you have the skills to teach pupils with complex needs to the highest quality and to embed a learning culture that enables children to become enthusiastic and independent learners, then this is the role for you!
The ideal applicant will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status with the attributes of a great future leader.
- Experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex language and communication needs and/or other complex specialist educational needs.
- A proven track record of achieving academic excellence.
- Evidence of implementing innovative approaches to learning, particularly in regard to children with ASD.
- Experience of meeting the needs of children and young people who benefit from specialist provision within a mainstream setting.
- Resilience, energy and optimism.
You will be an outstanding practitioner who:
- is dedicated to raising standards and is able to demonstrate highly effective teaching skills.
- demonstrates excellent and innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching and learning.
- can demonstrate the ability to plan an exciting, inspiring curriculum.
- is able to coach and mentor staff to reach high standards in our school and also across the wider Trust.
- recognises parents as vital partners in learning and is committed to building strong relationships.

Richmond Hill Academy is a three-form entry school (630 places) with a 52-place nursery and Rainbow Base, a Resource Provision for children with complex communication needs.
