What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Dance Teacher to join our friendly and evolving Dance department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly experienced Head of Department who has an excellent track record of achieving outstanding results at both KS4 and KS5; and is employed by Pearson as a Team Leader on the BTEC Tech Award in Performing Arts. The department has a strong curriculum that is well-planned and ready to deliver, but there is also the flexibility to allow for the successful candidate to contribute their own creative ideas. The department engages in a range of extra curricular activities including an annual musical, The Great Big Dance Off, Outwood Performance of the Year and a Trust wide Dance Showcase. A Dance piece from Outwood Grange won the performance of the year competition last year with their Peaky Blinders performance. The successful candidate for this temporary post will be working within a large Trust of schools and wherever possible, we will look for opportunities beyond this post in one of our neighbouring schools. As a member of the Outwood family, you will be aligned with our vision, which places 'Students First' at its core.
At Outwood Grange Academy we have impressive, state of the art facilities with the Sir Michael Wilkins Arts Centre, which is dedicated to the performing arts. This building boasts a number of specialist dance studios, along with a modern auditorium, that seats over 300 in the audience. We are proud to be a flagship academy for the performing arts within our Trust, and regularly host other academies and invite the community in to enjoy our professional standard productions.
