As part of our journey to become ‘a truly great school’, we are looking for a highly effective and motivated Data Assessment and Reporting Coordinator. We wish to appoint someone with the skills and ability to collect and produce accurate data and reports to inform the management of progress and achievement by students.

The successful candidate must be skilled in using all aspects of SIMS with particular focus on setting up assessment mark-sheets and reports. A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with staff and students and work flexibly and on their own initiative to prioritise their workload.

Sir John Thursby Community College is a good school and we are passionate about and ambitious for our students. We understand the importance of assessment and behaviour data in helping our students to be successful, but we are mindful of collecting data for data’s sake. We are looking for a Data Assessment and Recording Coordinator who will:

• Manage pupil data in SIMS
• Develop and manage the effective collection of student’s achievement and approach to learning data
• Develop and manage the production of the reports we share with students, parents and staff
• Work effectively with staff across the school
• Work effectively with external agencies such as the DfE and FFT
• Model commitment, resilience, patience, hard work and a good sense of humour

We value and care for our staff and seek to abandon anything that creates unnecessary workload.

Our last Ofsted in January 2020 noted that, "Sir John Thursby Community College continues to be a good school. Staff enjoy working at this school. The pupils that we spoke to told us that they feel safe at school. They have good relationships with staff and they are well cared for. Senior leaders are determined to make the school better for pupils and staff."

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to our work and benefit from an excellent environment, where all staff are encouraged to progress their careers with us. Our state of the art building ensures that our students and staff have the best learning environment in which to achieve. SJT is a very positive community, with our recent staff survey showing that over 97% of our staff enjoy coming to work and are proud to be part of our school. At SJT we view the professional development of all staff as a priority and you will be joining successful and committed team.

The successful candidate will fully embrace our ethos of ‘Belong, Believe Achieve’ whilst bringing fresh ideas that will build on current strengths and achievements.
