What skills and experience we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, Design and Technology Technician to join our Art Department to provide technical support services to the department, including the preparation of materials, and setting up of equipment for class practical sessions and maintaining equipment for use.

  • Responsible for the safety and day to day maintenance of all machinery/equipment/material within the work area
  • Support both students and Design and Technology staff within lessons
  • Support students in accessing learning activities under the guidance of the teacher
  • To demonstrate and assist students in setting up of, and use of machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage stock and supplies, cataloguing as required
  • Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes.

You will demonstrate;

  • GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
  • Good literacy / numeracy skills
  • Ability to use relevant technology
  • Ability to use ICT effectively
  • Ability to use relevant equipment / resources.
  • Good keyboard / computer skills
  • Ability to effectively present artwork for display
