Daytime Cleaner/Lunchtime Assistant job summary

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join Edgar Wood Academy in a combined role of Daytime Cleaner and Lunchtime Assistant. Working 28.75 hours per week (20.42 hours cleaning and 8.33 hours lunchtime support), term-time plus four weeks, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

This varied role combines cleaning and housekeeping responsibilities with supporting the smooth running of the school day during lunchtime. As a Daytime Cleaner, you will undertake general cleaning duties across the academy, including classrooms, corridors and toilet facilities, ensuring high standards of cleanliness, health and safety. As a Lunchtime Assistant, you will help create a positive lunchtime experience for students by promoting good behaviour, supporting student wellbeing and acting as a positive role model.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrate excellent communication skills and take pride in maintaining an environment where students can thrive. You will also share our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, recognising the important role all staff play in keeping students safe.
