We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Head of English to join our exceptionally supportive and passionate team. We are looking for a candidate to deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum that is exciting, creative, and diverse.
The main responsibilities for this role are:
o To assist in leading the English team. This involves giving a clear vision and direction to work, identifying key areas for improvement and planning appropriate actions to meet them.
o To take responsibility for a key stage.
o To manage both the people and resources associated with each aspect the subject and examination subjects.
o To monitor the quality of teaching and learning, liaising with Heads of Year and offering support and development where necessary.
o To promote and organise extra-curricular programmes for all Key Stages including liaising with external bodies.
o To promote the ethos of the school.
o To help mentor and coach members of the faculty to ensure a high level of consistent teaching and delivery
The English faculty, as well as the rest of the Academy, performs at a high level and it has a clear focus on students making excellent progress. We can offer you the opportunity to teach English up to and including A level Language and Literature. You will join a faculty that is celebrating consistently positive results. The successful candidate will be a passionate middle leader who is confident supporting and delivering teaching across the ability range.
