What skills and experience we're looking for

The Opportunity

Deputy Head of House(non-teaching)

37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, term time plus 5 INSET and the equivalent of one week (37 hours) across the year to support the needs of the school.

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join a committed and caring Pastoral team dedicated to ensuring that all pupils are supported to succeed and achieve their personal academic potential.

Assisting our four Heads of House, key duties will include:

  • Supporting students’ wellbeing, personal and academic development
  • Supporting the school’s Ready to Learn system and On Call system
  • Upholding the school’s behaviour, attendance and uniform policy, implementing proactive measures for improvement as appropriate
  • Developing and implementing a strong pastoral programme, including delivery of assemblies
  • Ensuring that children in vulnerable categories are supported effectively both pastorally and academically

Assisting our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), key duties will include:

  • Acting as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to ensure all children feel safe and supported in school
  • Manage referrals to external agencies including social services and early help.
  • Promote supportive engagement with parents and/or carers in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including where families may be facing challenging circumstances.
  • Support the DSL to ensure that child protection files are kept up to date and information should be kept confidential and stored securely.
