We are now looking for an inspiring, reflective and collaborative Deputy Head of Year to work within our fantastic pastoral team in promoting the highest standards of learning, behaviour and engagement within the classroom. Part time or flexible working will be considered for the right candidate.
The ideal candidate will maintain rigorous high expectations for staff and students alike. You will be a strong individual with a proven record of success. You will have a natural flair for developing practices that empower and motivate students to be the best versions of themselves.

You will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of like-minded leaders, teachers and a strong central team, all working together to build sustainable excellence in our schools.
As a Non-Teaching Deputy Head of Year you will be supporting Heads of Year and the school to ensure that behaviour incidents are recorded, investigated, resolved and documented in a timely and efficient manner. This role plays a key part in reducing exclusions and referrals from lessons using a robust, proactive, and high performing behaviour system. This role will also focus on supporting attendance, restorative work, workshops and targeted support sessions and daily behaviour for learning conversations.
Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for who you are responsible and with whom you come into contact.
To provide professional support for a Year Group, which secures success and continuous improvement in teaching and learning, ensures a high-quality education and school experience for all learners
Working with appropriate middle and senior leaders to manage and / or implement and track behaviour intervention for pupils depending on the severity of the needs.
Under the leadership of the Head of Year, to work with school staff, the Inclusion Team, and external agencies, to provide support and guidance for students in a year group. This will develop a culture of success, praise, and celebration of achievement.
Supporting the School’s Vision and Values across a Year Group ensuring every student has a sense of belonging, identity, and pride
Be a key member of the team, which holds significant responsibility for managing the efficient and effective day to day operation of the Year Group.
Supporting with Year Group Attendance and Punctuality and actions to improve them.
Supporting on the CAF processes and actions related to them, including with external agencies
Parents/Guardians are updated daily via telephone calls, letters and/or emails to inform them their children has been referred.
Be highly visible during line-ups, transitions and break times
Attend all relevant meetings to do with behaviour and teaching and learning.
Act as a mentor or keyworker for certain pupils.
Liaise with all relevant partners across the school to ensure early identification of pupils at risk of disengagement.
To act as part of the strategic Safeguarding Team and ensure that safeguarding is effective and child protection actions implemented.
Where appropriate, ask teachers for feedback on student work.
Be aware and comply with all safeguarding policies.
You may also be required to undertake such other comparable duties as the Head requires from time to time.

Eden Park High School is a new school in Beckenham. We opened in 2017, moved into our purpose-built new premises in 2019, celebrated our first ever GCSE results in 2022 and have opened our new Sixth Form this September.
