Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School is part of the successful St Thomas Catholic Academies Trust (STCAT). We are a school on a journey of improvement. We are looking for an inspiring Deputy Headteacher with a proven track record for school improvement, to help drive forward and further shape our vision for the school’s future. You will be knowledgeable and will lead, support, and encourage collaboration to help the school meet and exceed its objectives.

You will need to have an extensive knowledge of effective inclusion and be able to support our staff to continue on their journey of inclusive approaches to learning. You should be confident to lead on priority areas of the school’s development plan, plan and deliver effective research based CPD for all staff and be confident when supporting staff members to improve.

We are looking for a person who is kind, friendly, knowledgeable, creative and brave when it comes to school leadership.

This is a permanent full-time position starting from 1 September 2025.

This role is a Reserved Position which means that Applicants must be practising Catholics with a strong faith commitment and a clear vision for Catholic Education.

You will:

Be a practising Catholic with a strong faith commitment and a clear vision for Catholic Education.

Have an extensive knowledge of how to improve outcomes for children with SEND Have a proven track records of successful leadership, management and school improvement.

Have the vision and energy to initiate, lead and manage strategies to build on the current successes and achievements of the school.

Be passionate about ensuring that each child fulfils their unique potential.

Be a confident, positive and visible leader with the ability to build relationships with staff, children, parents, Governors, Directors and others working in STCAT and a wide variety of external partners.

Constantly be looking ahead, working closely with the STCAT, Governors and the staff to develop a compelling faith centred vision for the school that acts as the focus of all activity and drives improvement.

Be able to build successful teams and work collaboratively with others to achieve success.

Be able to respond and adapt effectively to changing circumstances, maintaining high levels of performance.

Actively listen and effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences.
