What skills and experience we're looking for

The post holder will fulfil National conditions of employment as detailed in the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document and National Standards for Deputy Head Teacher and deputising for the Head Teacher.

The postholder will be accountable to Co - Head Teacher, Riverside Meadows – Wisbech Green. This is a new post introduced with purpose to support the development of Riverside Meadows Academy and introduce additional pupils to a new SEMH building opened at Barton Road, Wisbech in September 2023. The Academy has a de- amalgamation pending as intent to separate the two sites into distinct SEMH special schools within Horizons Education Trust.

There will be a teaching commitment of at least 30% to support the quality of education. The candidate must provide preference in the application letter.

This is a post that is suitable for an aspiring senior leader who will increase capacity in the Trust and for Riverside Meadows Academy. Further training will be offered to enable the candidate to prepare and train for headship overtime.

This is a new post which will attract a candidate willing to train overtime to become a Head Teacher to increase capacity in the Trust and for Riverside Meadows Academy.

Riverside Meadows Academy at an exciting point of development of the school as Riverside Meadows – Wisbech Green builds upon the opening of the site on a brand - new building and as new SEMH provision. You will be a candidate that will want to see this development through over the next few years for the pupils, community and the Trust and build a strong and sustainable SEMH provision with the Head Teacher.

The post will involve deputising for Co – Head Teacher at St Neots by arrangement or for prolonged absences as both school sites are part of one special school Ofsted registration. The Trust has mobility clause for all staff.
