Deputy Headteacher and SENDco (Maternity cover - Secondment considered) job summary
We are a warm and welcoming village primary school looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Headteacher & SENCO to join our small, supportive team.
This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your leadership skills in a nurturing environment, whilst continuing to enjoy the rewards of classroom teaching for two days a week. You’ll play a key role in shaping our school community and supporting the success of every child. We will also consider a secondment for this position.
As Deputy Headteacher and SENCO, you will work closely with the Headteacher to support the strategic and day-to-day leadership of our school.
In this role, you will:
Share and communicate our vision and values, inspiring both staff and pupils.
Lead on SEN provision and champion high expectations, ensuring every child receives the support they need to thrive and achieve their very best.
Play a key role in shaping and delivering our school development plan.
Support the Headteacher with managing staff, resources and timetables.
Monitor progress and contribute to whole-school improvement.
Teach for two days each week, keeping you closely connected to classroom life.
Take responsibility for leading and monitoring foundation subjects across the school.
Mentor and support an Early Career Teacher.
Lead our enthusiastic School Council group, giving children a voice in school life.
Take on subject leadership for PSHE, helping to nurture our pupils’ personal development.
Be a positive role model, working to strengthen our inclusive and caring school community.
