The Role:
We are looking for an inspirational and highly motivated Deputy Headteacher who will play a key role in shaping the future of our school. This role includes key responsibilities for assessment, behaviour management, and acting as one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Lead on the development, implementation, and analysis of assessment strategies to ensure that all pupils achieve their full potential.
- Behaviour: Promote a positive, inclusive school culture by leading on behaviour management strategies that foster respect, resilience, and responsibility among pupils.
- Safeguarding: Act as one of the Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL), ensuring that all safeguarding policies and procedures are effectively implemented and adhered to, promoting the safety and welfare of all children.
- Leadership & Development: Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership of the school, contributing to the overall vision and direction of Barrow Hedges.
- Staff Development: Mentor and support colleagues to ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the school.
- Parental & Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community to support pupils’ holistic development.

- Be an experienced and effective senior leader with a proven track record of school improvement.
- Have strong knowledge and experience in assessment, behaviour management, and safeguarding.
- Be passionate about delivering high-quality education for all pupils.
- Have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
