DEPUTY HEADTEACHER: BEHAVIOUR AND ATTITUDES (L20-L24) job summary

Join a leading school which prides itself on the high quality of education, enrichment and care provided to all and is fully committed to the wellbeing of students and staff. We are seeking to appoint a talented, inspirational, and strategic Deputy Headteacher who is committed to the highest standards of learning, teaching, achievement, pastoral care, and leadership to join our talented team. The role has arisen due to the promotion of the current postholder and provides an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in continuing Ilkley Grammar School’s momentum as an outstanding school, shaping its future and further enhancing its positive reputation as the founding school of Moorlands Learning Trust (MLT). The successful candidate will lead on Behaviour and Attitudes and will have a passion for the pastoral care and wellbeing of students and staff, as well as the commitment to drive the strategic vision of the school and Trust to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Applicants must have significant senior leadership and pastoral experience, proven whole-school impact and can combine vision, strategy, energy, and enthusiasm to support our journey to being an exceptional school. We are a fantastic learning community, set in one of Yorkshire’s most scenic areas, whose facilities have recently been enhanced by the completion of a multi-million-pound refurbishment and expansion project. Our Ofsted inspection of March 2017 confirmed us as an ‘Outstanding’ school in all areas, where students “attain highly and make excellent progress”, where behaviour is “exemplary” and where “teachers go the extra mile to make sure students achieve, feel cared for and thrive within a supportive and productive learning environment”. Since Ofsted’s highly positive endorsement, the school has continued to go from strength to strength with progress in 2019 well above average and in the top 10% of all schools nationally. If you have the ability to engage and enthuse our staff and students, as well as the skills, qualities, and experiences to be an exceptional Deputy Headteacher, then we would love to hear from you.
