The Bournes Green Schools are a member of Southend East Community Academy Trust (SECAT) ; a community of schools working in partnership, sharing resources and ideas to provide a rounded and inclusive education to pupils who range from the age of 3 through to 18.
We work towards enhancing the life chances and prosperity of our students and to equip them for adult life. Whilst keeping each school’s individual character, we encourage our staff to share best practice and knowledge to further benefit our students. We are passionate about educating and encouraging our students to become active, successful citizens and to have the confidence to meet any challenge they face.
Bournes Green Infant School and Junior School have always been individual schools with their own headteachers. However, from September 2021, Lynn Cooney has been appointed Executive Headteacher of the two schools working across both sites. Although officially the schools will remain separate, the vision is for the schools to work closely together and to ensure that there is a consistent approach and a smooth transition for the children from the Infant School to the Junior School and beyond.
