Deputy Headteacher job summary

We are seeking an inspirational, dedicated, and forward-thinking Deputy Headteacher to join our welcoming and ambitious primary school. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding education and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

Working closely with the Headteacher, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving high standards of teaching and learning, and fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where pupils and staff can thrive.

The Role

As Deputy Headteacher, you will:

  • Support the Headteacher in the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school.
  • Lead and inspire staff to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Drive school improvement through effective monitoring, evaluation, and curriculum development.
  • Promote high expectations for behaviour, achievement, attendance, and wellbeing.
  • Develop strong relationships with pupils, parents, governors, and the wider community.
  • Deputise for the Headteacher when required.
