Overview

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and dedicated Deputy Headteacher who will work closely with the Headteacher, Trust and Governing Committee to support the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the school.

You will be passionate about high quality teaching and learning, committed to inclusion and determined to secure strong outcomes for all pupils. You will help to strengthen the Christian distinctiveness of the school and contribute to the positive relationships with the parish, Diocese and wider community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the strategic leadership and operational management of the school

  • Lead on aspects of school improvement, including teaching, learning and curriculum development

  • Promote high standards of behaviour, inclusion and safeguarding

  • Contribute to maintaining and developing the Christian ethos of the school

  • Support staff development, coaching and performance management

  • Work in partnership with families, the parish, Diocese and wider community

  • Ensure effective use of resources and support compliance with statutory requirements

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status and have successful leadership experience

  • Be committed to the Christian distinctiveness of Church schools

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire staff and pupils

  • Be reflective, resilient and committed to continuous improvement

  • Have strong knowledge of safeguarding, SEND, inclusion and current national priorities

  • Communicate effectively with pupils, staff, parents and governors

  • Be motivated by a strong moral purpose and commitment to making a difference

    We believe that our school is a very special place for children to learn and we are always very pleased that parents choose our school as the place for their children to embark on the next stages of development and growth.
    St Luke and St Philip’s converted from a Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School to an Academy in May 2014. We are now a member of the Cidari Multi Academy Trust.
    Our school provides a grounding in the Christian faith for all its children with emphasis on collective worship as part of its daily life. Christian values are built into the ethos and teaching of our school with the support of all Governors and staff for its Christian foundation. We also seek to encourage an understanding and respect for other world faiths.
