This is an opportunity for an inspirational and ambitious leader who shares our determination to maintain and enhance the exceptional standards set by our school. You will already be an established Deputy Headteacher or senior leader, with a breadth of demonstrable experience, who can contribute to delivering our vision for education in the school.

First and foremost, you will be an exceptional teacher with a commitment to ensuring progress and attainment for all pupils. The role includes a 0.2FTE teaching commitment although no specific class responsibility. You will be a strategic and analytical thinker who has a creative and forward-thinking approach to leadership in an educational setting.

The successful candidate will strengthen and maintain the links we have built with parents and the wider community, and will lead on assessment across school, tracking and strategically analysing whole school data in order to promote pupil progress and outcomes.

Personal Development is a key focus in our school and the successful candidate will be committed to ensuring that pupils in our school are supported to become active global citizens who celebrate differences and demonstrate high levels of respect for others.

We are seeking someone who will set the highest of expectations and be a key contributor to our school’s culture of continuous improvement in order to achieve the best educational experience and outcomes for pupils.

As Deputy Headteacher you will also be responsible for supporting curriculum development, monitoring and developing attendance and developing trainee teachers. The Deputy Headteacher will also be required to act as Deputy DSL.

You must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to forge strong relationships with pupils, parents, Trust colleagues, local schools and community networks.

We are a large, long established school, situated in the heart of our community. We attract children and families from Darras Hall, wider Ponteland localities and Newcastle. We are proud to be part of Pele Trust and work closely with our colleagues in neighbouring schools to ensure that all of our pupils are provided with the very best possible educational experiences, from the age of 3 to 18.

Our school is continually developing and we endeavour to ensure that the experiences we offer our pupils are responsive to the ever changing world. It is our vision that our children leave Darras Hall as happy, successful, resilient young people, who are curious about their world and are respectful towards those they share it with. We were excited to become a Primary school in September 2017 and are exceptionally proud of our state of the art new school building, which opened in September 2018.

We aim to continually evaluate and develop the experiences that we provide for our children.
