What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the promotion of our current Deputy Head to Headteacher at another school, the Governing Board is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and dynamic Deputy Headteacher who is able to lead strategically alongside the Headteacher and Governors.

You will:

  • Be an outstanding classroom practitioner who can lead, develop and enhance the practice of others.
  • Demonstrate substantial and proven leadership skills with experience of school improvement, performance management, monitoring and self-evaluation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead curriculum development and lead teaching and learning.
  • Have a commitment to raising achievement for all within our diverse school community.
  • Be able to develop effective systems to support and develop the skills of staff to meet pupil needs effectively.
  • Lead on teaching pedagogy have experience of rigorous monitoring and data analysis.
  • Be an excellent communicator, with high levels of emotional intelligence and a strong commitment to working in partnership with parents, governors and the community.

Hunter’s Bar Infant School is situated two miles south-west of the centre of the city and is a popular and lively school with a very diverse pupil profile. We are a larger than average sized, three form entry, infant school with 270 children on roll. Classes are organised in single year groups, with three classes in each year.
