Deputy Headteacher job summary

North Walsham High School, part of Enrich Learning Trust, is a rapidly improving 11-16 school with a clear trajectory of sustained improvement. Following a period of successful stabilisation, the school is now well placed to take the next step in its journey towards becoming one of the highest-performing schools in Norfolk.

Situated in the idyllic North Norfolk community, the school plays a central role locally and has built strong, positive relationships with pupils, families and staff. In recent years, the senior leadership team has worked with determination to embed research-informed approaches to teaching, learning and behaviour, establishing a culture of high expectations and consistency.

We are currently looking to appoint a new Deputy Headteacher and are looking to recruit an exceptional leader to help lead the school into its next phase of excellence.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced Deputy Headteacher or an ambitious senior leader ready for their next challenge. The successful candidate will combine strategic clarity with strong moral purpose, driving continued improvement in outcomes while sustaining a culture where staff and pupils thrive. They will also play a key role within a high-performing and collaborative Multi-Academy Trust and will have the opportunity to work closely with our other trust schools, both primary and secondary.

We are looking for a leader who:

Demonstrates integrity, ambition and a strong track record of successful leadership

Has an unwavering commitment to high-quality teaching and learning for all students

Prepared to work across both pastoral and curriculum areas dependent on need and skills

Communicates with clarity, confidence and empathy, and shows resilience in the face of challenge

Is motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting difference to a school and its community

This is a rare opportunity to work in an ambitious and improving school at a pivotal moment in its development.

For a confidential discussion, a visit to the school or more information about the role, please contact Sasha Furze, Director of Schools and Education (office@enrich-learning.org)
