What skills and experience we're looking for

After 19 years of service to St Dunstan’s School, our Deputy Head Teacher is stepping down to pursue some other interests. We are, therefore, excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented senior leader to join our thriving Christian two-form entry primary school as Deputy Head Teacher.

We are looking for a person who relishes a challenge and can build upon our strengths, support us in taking our school to the next level and provide our pupils with a challenging and creative curriculum of the future. In April 2023, our school maintained its ‘good’ rating from Ofsted. Since that inspection, we have continued to excel, ranking in the top 5% of all primary schools nationally for our Year 1 phonics screening.

We aim for a vibrant, inclusive and innovative school community This is supported by our strong Christian ethos and reflected in our children as they grow into confident, responsible and compassionate young people.

We are looking to recruit a passionate, positive and talented Deputy Headteacher to support the Headteacher, our dedicated and driven staff team, engaged pupils, and enthusiastic parent community.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who demonstrates a passion for children, education and a commitment to excellence; someone who shapes a growth culture in which all are empowered to fulfil their roles and reach their individual potential as well as being dedicated to improving the outcomes of our pupils.

As Deputy Headteacher, you will support the strategic direction of the school that is a key driver in school improvement and complements our distinct Christian ethos. You will have a proven track record in leadership, raising standards and improving outcomes, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
