What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governing Body of St Edward’s School is seeking to appoint an inspirational and dynamic Deputy Headteacher. The Deputy Headteacher will deputise for the Headteacher in their absence and work closely with the Headteacher in forming and delivering the vision for the next stage of St Edward’s journey as a school.

St Edward’s is a highly oversubscribed joint Roman Catholic and Church of England, co-educational school, which received a strongly “Good” Ofsted judgement in 2022, and has had three consecutive “Outstanding” church school inspections. The school has been recognised at national level for teaching excellence and its strong regard for staff wellbeing.

We are looking to appoint an inspiring, dynamic and committed Deputy Headteacher who will:

  • Assist the Headteacher in leading and managing the school
  • Have a principled, values-driven vision for excellence in all aspects of school life.
  • Ensure that the needs of every child are met and that they are inspired to meet their true potential.
  • Be able to demonstrate a practising faith and be committed to the ethos and vision of the school, ensuring that it reflects the rich traditions of the partner churches.
  • Provide clear and precise leadership, nurturing and inspiring others to achieve to the highest of standards.
