What skills and experience we're looking for
The Trust, Governors and Headteacher are looking to appoint an outstanding teacher with strong leadership skills to help drive the school forward on its journey of improvement. We are looking for a Deputy Headteacher, to work with our committed, caring and hardworking staff, as we further develop our educational provision to raise aspirations and a love of learning for all. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside the Headteacher and empower an amazing team to achieve its vision.

We are looking for a strong, dynamic and inspirational leader who:
- Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a proven track record of raising standards
- Has a sound knowledge of curriculum development
- Has a deep understanding of safeguarding procedures and practices
- Has experience of working in a school in an area of high deprivation and meeting the needs of all children
- has the vision and dedication to take on the challenge of joining the leadership team of this improving school
- is committed to serving our children, families and community
- has a love of learning, which will inspire staff and children
- will develop the learning culture of the school
- will challenge and empower staff to be the best they can be
- will foster children’s enjoyment of learning whilst ensuring high levels of achievement
- will develop the respectful and inclusive Christian ethos of our school
- is resilient, able to take on responsibility and meeting the challenges of leadership in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- has experience of effective behavior management systems

St Hugh's is a one form entry primary school in Oldham with 224 children on role from Nursery to Year 6. We have high levels of pupil premium pupils, SEN and EAL. We believe in developing the whole pupil and giving them aspirations for the future. We are a Church of England School with a strong Christian Ethos. We have recently converted to an academy and joined the Crompton House Multi Academy Trust.
