Deputy Headteacher job summary

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an inspirational and talented leader to take the post of Deputy Headteacher and ensure that The Dean Academy continues to go from strength to strength.  The Dean Academy is a school that is improving rapidly and was judged as “good in all areas” by Ofsted in September 2021.  Since then, academic standards have continued to improve, and the school has gone through an exciting phase of growth with both staff and students.  As such we are looking to appoint a new Deputy Headteacher to a permanent position to start in January 2024.

The successful candidate will be an outstanding leader with a proven track record of school improvement.  They will have a background as an excellent teacher and have experience of school leadership over a varied range of areas.  Fundamentally, this post is centred on ensuring that the quality of the school’s education is exceptional.  The post holder will drive forward our work around strengthening the curriculum alongside shaping how we teach and the pedagogical approaches we prioritise.  You will lead quality assurance and use assessment data to identify areas of opportunity.  The successful applicant must be willing to work hard, day in and out, leading and inspiring colleagues and making decisions that ensure we sustain the trajectory of rapidly improving GCSE outcomes and destinations for the young people we serve.
